The Gauge Mecha-1 BMF launched in 2006 looks like any other premium watch available on the world market. The extraordinary timepiece can be described as unusual, futuristic, retro - 60's or 70's, impressive and even weird or strange but definitely not as an ordinary high-end men's watch. The rectangular 316L stainless steel case is 43 mm wide and 50 mm long and features an observation crystal on the back. The bezel used as dial is secured with 10 Torx drive cheese head tamper resistant screws which prevent any unauthorized tampering because only a Torx screwdriver can unlock the case. The watch has automatic self-winding caliber ETA 2836-2 modified to offset hour hand on disc, retrograde minutes and 24-hour indicator. Time display is characterized by off center analog hour dial, retro minute dial which is positioned on the left side and 24-hour indicator which is under the hour dial. The registered design has either a white dial with red hour hand and black-red minute indicator, or black dial with yellow hour hand and black-yellow minute indicator. Both version come with a black rubber strap with tang buckle but you can also choose between 24 genuine crocodile strap and water resistant military style leather strap. The sapphire crystal is water resistant to 5 bars (50 meters/165 feet).
The Gauge Mecha-1 BMF considered as Azimuth's signature collection has no other functions besides time display but it is truly unique, avant-garde and different from any other watch you have seen so far. It is simply one of those watches which inspires with its originality and fascinating design revealing the Azimuth's innovative approach to time reading. In addition to extraordinary design, the Gauge Mecha-1 BMF offers the Swiss precision and reliability as well as the newest technology and the finest materials.
