TAG Heuer, a Swiss luxury watch manufacturer famous for impressive sports watches and chronographs celebrated its 150th anniversary with re-issue of the Silverstone chronograph series. One of the world's first automatic chronographs and Heuer's finest creations of all times was originally launched in year 1974 and immediately became one of the most desired timepieces in the world. The original Heuer Silverstone - named after the famous English racing track Silverstone Circuit was inspired by its predecessor, the Monaco and incorporated the TAG Heuer's technical innovations. Both Monaco and the original Silverstone were powered by Chronomatic Caliber 11 which was the first self-winding automatic chronograph with micro motor in the world providing their wearers precision of the professional chronometer instruments. Both timepieces were also marked by the crown located at 9 o'clock.

The legendary timepiece with distinctive square-shaped case and elegantly rounded edges is available with an updated version of the automatic caliber 11 featuring Dubois-Depraz module since February 2010. Both original blue and brown dials come with white hands, white luminescent hour and minute markers and indexes. Square-shaped second counter is located at 3 o'clock and square-shaped chronograph minute counter at 9 o'clock. Date window is located at 6 o'clock and outlined by a white frame featuring “SWISS MADE” lettering along both sides. The dial also features the original “HEUER” logo and “SILVERSTONE” lettering at 12 o'clock, and “AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH” lettering positioned at 6 o'clock.Distinctive square-shaped case in diameter of 42 millimetres is made of polished stainless steel. Like the original version, the new Silverstone series has a crown with “HEUER” logo at 9 o'clock, and chronograph push-buttons located at 2 o'clock and 4 o'clock. The case back is fixed with screws, and features the inscription “150th ANNIVERSARY 1860-2010 CALIBRE 11 – SILVERSTONE-LIMITED EDITION – SWISS MADE – Nº XXXX-1860” and round sapphire crystal in the middle providing direct view on the movement. Scratch resistant sapphire crystal is waterproof to 100 meters (328 feet). Blue and brown dial are available on a matching perforated alligator strap (blue dial with blue strap and brown dial with brown strap) with stainless steel folding clasp with “HEUER” logo. Both colour versions were issued only in 1,500 pieces each and will cost you $6,500.
