Girard-Perragaux is a Swiss luxury watch manufacturing company with a rich history of high-end watch manufacturing dating back to 1791 when Jean-Francois Bautte, a talented watchmaker and goldsmith signed his first watches in 1791. He became famous for his extra-thin watches and founded a manufacturing company in Geneva, the center of premium watch manufacturing at that time. The Girard-Perragaux Manufacture was founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1856 after Constant Girard - the founder of the Girard & Cie Firm married Marie Perregaux. His son Constant Girard-Gallet took over the Bautte company which was founded by Jean-Francois Bautte and merged it with Girard-Perragaux in 1906. Over the next century Girard-Perragaux emerged as one of the world's leading luxury watch manufacturing companies registering nearly 80 patents and introducing several innovative concepts.
