Patek Philippe & Co is a Swiss luxury watch manufacture famous for creating the most expensive modern wristwatch - the Sky Moon Tourbillon (Reference 5002P) which was sold for $1,49 million in 2008. The brand is truly one of the best among the best, while its timepieces are breathtaking and among the most desired timepieces for collectors and connoisseurs. All Patek Philippe timepieces are designed, developed and created in-house. The Golden Ellipse launched in the late 1960's is definitely one of the most recognizable wristwatches created by Patek Philippe. Although the brand is famous for its ultra-complicated watches and enjoyed a great demand among watch connoisseurs of a high social status including monarchs, popes and political leaders the Golden Ellipse collection impresses with its simplicity and formal purity. The distinctive elliptical design comes in two versions which distinguish themselves only in size and material of the case. The Golden Ellipse Ref. 3738 comes with anthracite sunburst or blue sunburst dial featuring gold applied hour markers and white gold, yellow gold or rose gold case, while the Golden Ellipse Ref. 5738P-001 is characterized by a large platinum case with 18 carat gold dial sunburst with Blue Gold featuring center applied baton markers and baton hands in 18 carat white gold. Both versions have a ultra-thin self-winding movement with 27 jewels and 6 bridges, a power reserve of approximately 48 hours and are water resistant to 30 meters (100 feet).
